Image of foot prints & the snake encircling it

This is a tiny shrine built above a pair of footprint carved on the rock surface. The presence of the Naga (divine snake) carving implies this as a Vaishnavite shrine, hence the name Vishnupada (means footprint of Lord Vishnu). The shrine is located close to the Sasivekalu Ganesha statue. A number of these can be spotted at the bare rock surfaces at the riverside and inside temple complexes. Devotees revere these iconic footprints.
Just south of this shrine are the remains of two large circular wall-like structures, possibly a granary.
Later when you tour along the riverside path you can spot two pairs of footprints near the Sugriva's Cave. One pair is smaller than the adjacent ones. These may be symbolizing that of Rama and Lakshmana , as the myth says the duo reached this place in search of Sita, Rama’s lost wife.
As a mark of worship devotees place flower petals and turmeric powder on theses footprints.
