. This pavilion stands at the midway point on the road that connects the Gejjala Mantapa and the Vittala Temple. The name derived from the horse sculptures (Kudure means horse in local dialect) that adorn its front pillars.

For what purpose this had been used is still doubtful.
. However its location, which is on the chariot road and tentatively facing the temple pond, suggests this structure was of some significance during the annual chariot festival or the boat festival held in the temple tank just across. You can see local tourists use this as a continent shelter for having food!

The pavilion is covered at its three sides.

. The open side, with its ornate pillars typical of Vijayanagara, faces the main road. On your way to Vittala Temple you pass this location after the Gejjala Mantapa.

If you plan to a Taxi/Autorickshaw/Tonga for your Vittala Temple tour, keep a few points in mind. They usually don’t bother to stop at such lesser sites en route. Confirm specifically your itinerary and stopover locations with the driver-guide before you start. Make a shortlist based on your interests and time available at your disposal.
